Paul M. Rossi, 63

October 19, 2024

Paul M. Rossi, 63, of Lancaster PA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, October 19, 2024. He was the son of Marian (Bilyk) and the late Paul H Rossi. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Paul lived on Long Island his entire life before moving to Lancaster in 2000.

For most of his professional life, his career was in sales. Paul joined the Mountville Fire Company in 2012 and was an active member of the department until a training accident in 2015 severely injured his spinal cord and left him paralyzed. Not knowing what function, or how much he would regain, Paul spent the next 11 months at Magee and Lancaster Rehab hospitals. It was Paul’s strong determination, strength and belief in himself that he was able to walk and function almost independently and drive his own modified vehicle. He stayed on as President of the fire company until 2021.

In addition to wife Denise, he is survived by his two sons: Michael and Christopher (Britny); his two beloved granddaughters: Shea and Emmi; his mother Marian; his sister Patricia Hall (Timothy); his brother Peter and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s name to the Mountville Fire Company #1, 26 N. Lemon St., Mountville PA 17554.

A viewing will be held from 1PM-3PM and 5PM-8PM on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 441 N. George Street, Millersville, PA 17551. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601. Friends and family will be received from 10AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman, PA.

Rest in peace my friend. Forever grateful to the Lord to have meet you. We worked together at Integra Lifesciences. He loved his family deeply and was always talking about how proud he was of his two son’s. Denise he always said “you were the boss”and he loved you. He was a big teddy bear and I am going to miss him. I am heartbroken but I know I will see him again one day. My deepest condolences to the entire family.

I am so sorry, hurt, sad, and overcome with emotion. I’ve been calling him semi-regularly to keep in touch and had no idea he was even sick (aside from his injury, that is). I was actually planning to call him again. Talking to him was always great, and he never complained about anything. He always had a positive and optimistic attitude. We grew up together and had so many great times, and being his best man was a terrific honor. I always thought of him as a cousin. Being his friend and goombadi was a big part of my younger years. I will miss him.

My deepest sympathy to all who knew, loved and enjoyed Paul. I had the unfortunate/fortunate pleasure of meeting him at LRH, when he had his accident.  What a joyful person!  I never got to do the 5 K with him…that was a goal of his we made together.  May his memory bring you comfort and know he was a special person.
