Paula M. Davey, 65
Paula Maria Theresia Davey, 65, of Lancaster, PA. passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Saturday, March 31, 2012.
She was the wife of Raymond G. Davey, with whom she celebrated 42 years of marriage on September 5th. Born in Amsterdam, Holland, Paula was the daughter of the late Philippus C. and Cornelia M. Franssen Kraan. She lived in Holland until 1954, at which point she and her family moved to Melbourne, Australia. Paula resided in Melbourne until 1980, when she and her husband and young daughters came to the United States.
Paula enjoyed gardening and traveling, especially to Umea, Sweden. She loved animals, as evidenced by her love for her grand-dogs, Dolly and Rita.
In addition to her husband, Raymond, Paula is survived by her children: Catherine A. married to Fred Blair of Lititz, Rachel S. Davey of Philadelphia, Paul A. Davey of Lancaster, and Sarah L. Davey of Philadelphia; her 3 grandchildren Michael, Cassaundra, and Jonathan; her 2 sisters Corrie Wilson, Elisabeth Lomas and her brother, Philip Kraan, all of Melbourne, Australia. She is also survived by her lifelong friend, Brigitte Phillips of Lancaster. Paula was preceded in death by her brother, Willem Kraan.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, from 10-11AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11AM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
