Petrina Joy Westfall, 47

December 01, 2024

Petrina Joy Westfall, 47, of Ronks, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on her birthday and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 1, 2024. She was the cherished wife of Paul Westfall to whom she was married to for 18 years, and the loving mother of their son Emerson and their daughter Brynn.

Petrina was the daughter of the late Parke and Emma Ranck Sr. A graduate of Lancaster Mennonite, she worked at Hershey Farm Restaurant and State Farm Insurance before choosing to be a stay-at-home mom. She was gifted in hospitality and loved entertaining friends and family at her home. She was quick witted and often made humorous comments. She enjoyed baking, reading, playing games, serving at church, being by the pool and taking their family’s annual vacation to Bethany Beach. She was always supporting and encouraging her children in their school and athletic activities.

In addition to her husband and children, Petrina is survived by her siblings Pat married to Raleigh Rhodes, Peg married to Mike Nolt, Parke, Jr. married to Sheila (Nolt), and Pam married to Les Nolt, along with numerous nieces and nephews, many whom considered her their “favorite Aunt”.

Petrina courageously battled cancer for 2 years, during which time her motto was “I’m the Lord’s servant and He can do with me as He sees fit”. Petrina wanted to thank her family, friends, church, community, medical team, and Hospice for the love and care they provided. In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution to an organization that was special to Petrina, including Strasburg Mennonite Youth Group, Hospice & Community Care, Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute and The Damien Foundation.

Calling hours will be held at Strasburg Mennonite Church, 1514 Village Road, Strasburg, PA 17579 on Friday, December 6 from 6PM-8PM, and again on Saturday, December 7 from 10AM until the time of her Celebration of Life ceremony at 11AM.

Paul, Emerson and Brynn, Our prayers are with you as you navigate this very difficult time but knowing full well that your precious wife and mom is with her Savior.  Sorry we cannot make the service as we are out of the country and couldn’t make conections to arrive in time.   You guys are so special to us as we consider you family.  We will always remember Petrina for the special lady she was and her always present smile and compassion for others. We will miss her as well.

Petrina was a treasured childhood friend. I have fond memories of piggyback rides, pillow fights and nicknames. I am so very sad to hear of her passing, and send condolences to all her family.

Petrina truly was Joy to those she came in contact with.  As a lifelong friend it’s really hard to comprehend this-PJ’s time on this earth has come to an end way too soon.  I loved Petrina’s laugh and warm heart for others.  I remember her always bringing gum on the school bus.  Any time we gathered you could count on her making amazing food!  Games are another memory with Petrina and her family.  47 feels way too young, but she’s with our Lord and Savior now and we have great memories to hold onto until we meet again in heaven.  Paul and Emerson and Brynn, we are praying for you daily.

Paul, Emerson, and Brynn, Ann and I are just seeing this now … Words can’t convey our empathy across the miles. We always loved Petrina’s hospitality, humor, and the home space she created. Your family was a joy to shepherd.
God keep you in your grief,
Steve and Ann Weaver

Paul – I don’t have words to describe how sad your IBM family is to hear this news.  You are always such a bright light and a kind soul – and although I never met Petrina, I just know she must have been cut from the same cloth and a truly special human being.  My family and I will pray for you, your children, and especially God’s angel, Petrina during this difficult time.
