Phi Cong To, 82

Phi Cong To, 82, of Lancaster, passed away surrounded by his family Friday, July 26, 2013, at his residence. His wife of 47 years Minh To died March 29, 2012. Born in Ha Dang, Vietnam, he was the son of the late To Xuan Thu and Bui Thi Nguy.

In Vietnam, Phi worked as an Assistant Fire Chief for the United States Embassy. He worked in the maintenance department for Victor F. Weaver, now Tyson Foods, retiring in 1992. After retiring, Phi and Minh owned a corner grocery store, M & P Grocery, on Mary Street until 2005.

Phi was an avid reader, he enjoyed gardening and was a great cook, especially of wide noodle Vietnamese Pho soup. A nature lover, he enjoyed feeding the birds and rabbits. Phi was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He attended daily Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

Phi is survived by his 4 Daughters: Trang To-Trinh married to Tam Trinh of Lancaster, Trinh To-Weichler married to Scott Weichler of Strasburg, Phuong To and partner Tom Duff of Magnolia, NJ and Oanh To and partner John Griffin of Santa Clara, CA; and by his 4 grandchildren: Timothy, Christine, Sydney and Hunter. Phi is also survived by his elder sister, To Thi Nghin of Ha Dang, Vietnam.

Friends will be received by his family on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 from 6 to 7:30PM, followed by a Vietnamese Prayer Service from 7:30 to 8 PM, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. Interment is private. Please omit flowers.
