Regina B. “Jean” Posipanko, 95
June 11, 2024
Regina B. “Jean” Posipanko, age 95, peacefully passed away on Jun 11, 2024 at the former Mennonite Home, Lancaster, while under the care of Hospice. Born in Shamokin, she was the daughter of John and Mary (Krokoskie) Ziemba. She was the loving wife of Tom for 56 years before his passing in 2005.
In her earlier years, Jean loved to bowl, make ceramics, play pinochle with her ladies’ card group and play bingo. In the 1960’s she was a Girl Scout Leader and worked part time at RCA, Schick and a local dairy. In the 1970’s, she became very involved in her church, St Philip the Apostle, and served as President and Vice president of the Women’s Auxiliary for several years. In the 1980’s and 1990’s Jean worked for the School District of Lancaster as a playground aide. She was the biggest fan and cheerleader of her children and grandchildren, rarely missing a sporting event, concert, or school musical. Following her father’s example, she was a devoted Democrat and worked for many years as the Inspector of Elections. She also made an impression on the Quaker Hills neighborhood kids with her creative adventures.
As empty nesters, Jean traveled with Tom all over the world, Hawaii, Spain, Ireland the Caribbean and more. She also loved to take day trips with the Guys and Dolls from St Philips. She especially loved her trips to the casino.
She will be lovingly missed by her daughters Gail Keating wife of Tom, Millsboro, Delaware, Dr. Nancy Herr, Lititz, Sue McCune wife of Bill, Lancaster, and son in law Gene Salimbeni, York, as well as her grandchildren Jennifer McMillan, Michael Keating, both of DE, Christine Haley of MD, Mandy Salimbeni, Marietta, Matt Salimbeni, Columbia, Dr. Nate Herr of MD, Andy Herr of VA, Zach McCune, Denver, Kayla Urbanek, Wrightsville, Nate McCune of CT and Tyler Reiff, Mt Joy. She was blessed to have 12 great grandchildren plus one on the way. She is also survived by her sisters Marie Manney of NJ and Flo Yeager, Sunbury. She was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers and her daughter, Laurie Salimbeni.
A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. The family will receive guests beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1818 Market St, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
