Richard J. Lucas, 67

August 14, 2023

Richard J. Lucas, 67, of Lancaster, entered into God’s Kingdom, on August 14, 2023, peacefully at home.

Born in Northeast Philadelphia, he was the beloved son of the late Norman F. and Loretta (Rauch) Lucas. He was the dedicated husband of 44 years to Deborah A. (Yeager) Lucas.

Rick graduated from Holy Ghost Prep in Bensalem where he played varsity soccer and attended Temple University where he earned a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering. He had the opportunity to travel to many countries throughout his career with RCA. A devoted husband, father and Pop-Pop; Rick spent as much time as possible with his family. He led by example to instill in his children and grandchildren a solid work ethic. Along with his career, Rick was known to be extremely sociable and “work the floor.” His Catholic faith, integrity and character were unshakable. An avid reader, he had a library of history, mystery & religious books. Rick was always working around the house, while listening to the Philadelphia Phillies and other sports on the radio. Giving back to the community, Rick was heavily involved with the St. Vincent De Paul Society and was a 4th Degree within the Knights of Columbus.

– “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal.”

In addition to his wife, Debbie, he is survived by his daughters, Christina L. Saez (Lucas) and Jaclyn M. Lucas; his son, Gregory F. Lucas; his grandchildren, Tyler A., Dylan R., Ryan M., and Ayden J. Saez; and his siblings, Kathleen (Richard) Farina, Karen (Michael) Adair, Father Robert Lucas, and Kimberly (David Brautlecht) Lucas; and 5 nieces, 2 nephews, and a great-nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Baby Lucas.

Family and friends are invited to a Catholic Mass beginning at 10:30AM on Friday, August 18, 2023 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Road, Lancaster, PA 17601. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
