How I loved Rita!!! Everyone on Pine Street loved and respected her. When I moved on Pine in 2001 I was so pleased to meet Rita as my neighbor. Though she didn’t sit out on the porch and yak, we had many private conversations. When I worked long hours and no energy she would give me a call to come over for rice pudding she made for my son and me. “Freddie” would come over and mow and clip and it was a treat to watch them tease each other and laugh and of course they would pull me into the laughter. She had hard candies to share and always such a quick wit. I felt a little closer because we both came from the ‘North’, she from Shamokin, and I from Tunkhannock. She was my ‘rock’!! A smart woman with a twinkle in her eyes, a love for her family, and a deep love for God. I was Blessed when I asked God to please place me where he wanted me that he put me next to Rita on the 700 block on North Pine Street. Love to Freddie and Rita!!!!!Judy
