Robert A. Wolf, Sr., 89

Robert A. Wolf, Sr., 89, of Lititz, passed away peacefully on October 19 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Lancaster, he was the husband of Ellen M. Wolf. They had been married 56 years. He was the son of the late Theodor and Catherine Wolf.
Robert was the founder and owner of Standard Acoustical Products Inc. of Pennsylvania and Maryland, developer and partner in the housing developments of Nicholson Square, Foxshire, Washington Square, Jefferson Square, Stonehenge, Oak Lane, Southern Village, and Bent Creek Country Club. He was also founder and owner of numerous subsidiary businesses in the construction and real estate fields.
Born and raised on Cabbage Hill, Robert was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School and Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. Robert was later appointed by Governor Casey as a Trustee of Stevens College. Recipient of numerous awards, he was also named “Man of the Year” in 1974 by the local chapter of the American Business Club.
Robert was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Armed Forces along with his five older brothers. The Wolf family was a “Six Star Family” for having six sons in the service at the same time during World War II.
Robert was an avid golfer who loved to travel, visiting countries throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He also enjoyed spending winters at his home in southern Florida. Mostly Robert enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, consisting of seven children, 15 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He cherished his family, offering love, guidance, excitement, and strength. He will be deeply missed. He was a member of Saint John Neumann’s Catholic Church in Lititz, PA.
Robert is survived by his children: Janice W. Hollinger wife of Gary, Lititz, step daughter Deborah A. Huslin of Millersville, Robert A. Wolf, II husband of Laura, Lititz, Bruce M. Wolf husband of Kristen, Hagerstown, Maryland, Susan E. Kubek wife of Ron, Lititz, and Brad A. Wolf husband of Lisa, Lancaster. He is survived by 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Joyce E. Irvin wife of Michael, Ardmore. Also preceding him in death were five brothers and two sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 24, 2015 11AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church 601 E. Delp Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601 with The Rev. David Danneker as Celebrant. The family will receive friends immediately following Mass at the church. There will be no viewing prior to Mass. Private interment will be in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert’s memory may be made to Lancaster Catholic High School 650 Juliette Ave, Lancaster, PA 17601.
