Robert “Bob” Eugene Cochran, 92
August 19, 1932 - February 20, 2025
A life lived to the fullest: Robert “Bob” Eugene Cochran, 92, passed away on February 20, 2025.
Bob and his wife, Audrey, were married on July 28, 1956 and shared a devoted 68 years of marriage full of cherished memories and unconditional love. He was a dedicated and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather known to his family as “Gampy.” He will be greatly missed by all.
Bob was born August 19, 1932 in Lititz, Pennsylvania to Howard and Margie Cochran. He graduated from Lititz High School where he competed and excelled at basketball, baseball and football. He later joined the U.S. Army and served in Panama.
Bob was arguably one of the most enthusiastic fans of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. He never missed a game. He also was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. In the fall, he would either be hunting or rooting in the “red birds” during the playoffs. Additionally, he was a talented and competitive tennis player and member of the Manheim Tennis Club. Bob passed on his many passions, sportsmanship, humor and unmatched devotion to family.
Bob was an incredibly generous and gregarious individual. He was a devout Christian and active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Within the Lititz community, he served as a member of the Lion’s Club. For a number of years, he was a proud leader in Lancaster County’s blood donation efforts. He retired from the former RCA in Lancaster after 34 years as a computer programmer. In retirement, Bob and Audrey spent the winters in the St. Petersburg Florida’s sunshine playing tennis and enjoying time with friends.
Bob lived a fulfilling life alongside his friends and family. His loved ones are comforted knowing they will be reunited with him in heaven.
