Robert “Bob” Steffy, 88
February 26, 2024
Robert “Bob” Steffy, 88 peacefully departed on February 26, 2024, to join his beloved wife, Ann Louise Steffy, in eternal rest.
Bob was born to the late George and Grace Steffy in Soudersburg, PA. From the moment he entered this world, it seemed as though he was destined to be a truck driver, with a steering wheel seemingly attached to his hand. Bob dedicated his entire life to the profession he loved, spending many years with Yellow Truck, where his exceptional skill and commitment earned him the prestigious honor of driving 3 million miles without a single accident.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Bob found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had an insatiable love for trucks and classic cars, particularly convertibles, which he drove around in with his sons, creating cherished memories. His passion for auctions and antiques which he shared with his wife.
Bob’s commitment to service extended far beyond the highways he traversed. He bravely served as a firefighter for the Ronks Fire House and selflessly drove ambulances for Manheim, always putting the needs of others before his own. His generosity knew no bounds, as evidenced by his frequent blood donations, for which he was rightfully honored with an award, reflecting his compassionate spirit and dedication to helping those in need.
Bob leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will be cherished by his children Gary Steffy (husband of Laura) and Rick Steffy (husband of Mary Ellen), as well as his granddaughter Heather Moser (wife of Jason). His absence will be keenly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Services to celebrate Bob’s life will be held on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, at Charles Snyder Funeral Home, located at 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, at 10 am. Guests are invited to pay their respects during a visitation one hour prior to the service. Bob will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife, Ann Louise Steffy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Morning Star Hospice, located at 2225 Sycamore St, Harrisburg, PA 17111. May his soul find peace, and may his memory continue to inspire kindness and generosity in the hearts of all who knew him.
