Robert D. “Robin” Evans, 66
May 09, 2022
Robert D. “Robin” Evans, 66, of Lancaster, PA, passed away at home on Monday, May 9, 2022.
He was the husband of Deborah E. “Debbie” Evans, Ph.D., with whom he shared 27 years of marriage this past September 10th. Born in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Bruce M. and Marian E. (Saul) Evans.
Robin had worked in Christian Publishing for over 30 years and most recently as an independent sales consultant for Tyndale House Publishing of Carol Stream, IL. Early in his career he had worked for Reebok and Adidas in sales and development; the brand name “Weebok” was his idea, used in naming the line of Reebok’s children’s shoes. Following his graduation from George Williams College, IL, he worked for the YMCA, Streator, IL, before heading into the athletic industry.
Robin was a huge sports fan, following football and hockey, and was a Chicago Blackhawks fan. He enjoyed playing tennis, golf, and liked to fish. In his younger years, he played ice hockey and was a prospect in the professional minor league system of the Blackhawks.
He was a serious collector of antiques, particularly toys and games, as well being a collector and member of the Red Wing Pottery Collectors Society. His greatest love was first for the Lord and then his family. Robin referred to Debbie as “my bride” and cherished their two sons and two grandsons.
In addition to his wife, Debbie, he is survived by his sons: Zachariah J. married to Zoe Evans of Naperville, IL, and Jonah S. Evans of Lancaster, his two grandchildren Nikola R. “Niko” and Lleyton C. Evans; and his siblings Bruce R. married to Ann Evans of West Chester, and Glenn married to Deanna Evans of York. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received by Robin’s family on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA from 9:30-10:30AM, with the Memorial Service to follow at 10:30AM. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Robin’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 1818 Market St., Philadelphia, PA 19103.

Debbie and family. So very sorry of the passing of Robin. I first learned to know Robin at HUMC nearly 20 years ago as a group leader during the years of Men’s Fraternity and he was part of our small group that met for monthly breakfasts until a few years ago. He loved the Lord, his family and following sports. He had a perceptive mind and a keen sense of humor with humility. He will be missed.
