Robert E. Duncan, 86
Robert E. Duncan, 86 of Lancaster PA, passed peacefully away on September 18, 2007at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Greenville North Carolina, he was the son of the late Margaret and Leroy Duncan. He was a Member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Lancaster. Robert was an employee of Armstrong World Industries and the Pennsylvania State Liquor Control Board. A devoted father, and avid sportsman, Robert was one of the original members of the Conestoga Lodge baseball team. He belonged to the local golf league, and enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He was a member of the Mt. Horeb Lodge #14 Masons, and served with the United Armed Forces of America throughout Europe and the Middle East during World War II 1945 – 1948
Robert and Evelyn Helen Gray were united 50 years in holy matrimony on September 22nd 1957.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his loving son, Dennis Duncan of Philadelphia, four grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law Lillian Duncan of Lancaster. He is predeceased by his daughter Barbara Duncan formerly of Philadelphia, and his brother, Calvin Duncan formerly of Lancaster.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home Inc. 414 E. King St., Lancaster, at 11:00 a.m.. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment in Mellinger’s Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s memory to Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA. 17604- 4125.
