Robert Edward Mazeski, 87

Robert Edward Mazeski of Lancaster, formerly of Northumberland County, PA. passed away May 4, 2024, at UPMC Lititz. He was born 1936 in Danville, Montour County, PA. and was raised in Shamokin, PA. He was the son of the late Edward Michael Mazeski and Mary Regina (Pchola).
He was married to Hazel (ZeZe) E.M. Clark July 25, 1959, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Sunbury, PA. and moved to Lancaster County area to seek work. Robert was a graduate of Coal Twp. High School, and furthered his education in the U.S. Navy, and additional courses at local colleges and Tech Schools. Robert proudly served his country four years in United States Navy and was a Korean War Veteran.
He worked for RCA and its successor companies, General Electric & Burle Industries, Lancaster, PA. as an Electronic Manufacturing Technician; Company Technical Representative; Packing Engineer; Marketing and Application Engineering. His work sometimes required traveling to different states and countries. He retired after 40 years of service.
He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church; American Legion Post #664; Manheim Township Citizens Association; St. Anne Neumann Travel Club; AARP; and Universal Athletic Club; Lancaster County Library; Lithuanian Society. He was previously a member of the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Northumberland County Historical Society and Lancaster County Historical Society. He was a genealogical researcher and has completed and published two maternal family books of Pchola and Matulevich in Northumberland County, PA.
He was an avid reader and had a great affinity for history. His hobbies included music, and sometimes playing guitar, computer genealogy, watching sports events, trying new cooking recipes, and spending time with friends enjoying coffee at McDonalds and meeting people.
Robert was a devoted, loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and was proud of their accomplishments. Their visits, calls, and pictures were a focus of delight, and nothing brought more joy than keeping up on family activities, milestones, and their amusing stories.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Stephen E. Mazeski, former Capt. U.S. Army and husband of Eileen of Lancaster, and Vincent R. Mazeski, Atty. husband of Camala of Mt. Pleasant Mills, a grandson, Stephen, two granddaughters, Kathryn (fiancé, John); Sarah E. and a step-granddaughter, Alexandra wife of Brett; and step-grandson, Tanner, husband of Kristy, and one great granddaughter Ryan, as well as a sister-in-law, Patricia Mazeski of Pottstown, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Mazeski of Pottstown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd. Lancaster, PA 17601, on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 12:30 PM, with Fr. Norbert Suresh as officiant. The family will receive guests at the church from 11 AM until Mass. A graveside service will take place at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. Contributions, if desired, may be made to St. John Neumann Catholic Church, at the address above.
