Robert G. “Bob” Bock, 72

November 27, 2024

Robert G. “Bob” Bock, 72, of Lancaster, died peacefully on Wednesday November 27, 2024. Born in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Howard G. and Lois B. Shenk Bock. He proudly graduated from Shippensburg Senior High School, class of 1971. Bob married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Kay Powell Bock, and they observed 53 years of marriage this past August. Bob worked as an insurance agent for Washington National (now known as Transamerica) for 47 years where he helped many families plan for their future. Bob formerly attended Shippensburg United Methodist Church. As a Mason, he was a member of the Millersville Lodge, 476. He was also a member of the Widow Sons Motorcycle Club. He loved riding his Harley and was known as “The Chrominator.”

Bob had a larger than life personality and a heart of gold. He always found a way to make you laugh and smile. Bob had a passion for hunting, especially deer, and you would find him in the woods every year during rifle season. He also loved fishing and reloading. He was a handyman, and enjoyed making and fixing things when he found time. Bob could usually be found every morning at Sheetz drinking coffee with his friends. He was a true family man and loved spending any time he could with them, making memories that his family will cherish forever. Bob had a profound impact on the lives he touched and his absense leaves a deep void in our hearts.

Surviving in addition to his wife, is a daughter, Nikol Turner wife of Todd, granddaughter Abbie Kelly, and grandsons Jack and Ryan Turner. Preceding him in death was a brother Chris Bock.

A graveside service for Robert will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg at 1:00 PM. Those desiring may send contributions in Bob’s memory to the Pet Pantry, 26 Millersville Road, Lancaster PA 17603.

Dear Sandy,
I was so sad to hear of your loss. Bob was so much fun to talk to at the class reunion.  You both were as I remembered,  big warm smiles.  I have no words to soften your loss, but I want you to know that I am thinking of you as you grieve your loss.
Take care.

Always enjoyed being around Bob. Worked with him for 8 years

November 30, 2024

I was deeply saddened to hear about Bob’s passing. Working with him over the years at Transamerica was an absolute pleasure. His boundless energy, sharp mind, and infectious sense of humor brightened our days, and his practical jokes always kept us on our toes. Bob’s warmth and kindness left a lasting impression, and I will always remember him fondly.
My heart goes out to you, Nikol, and Sandy during this incredibly difficult time. Nikol, you’ve always been such a strong and valued member of our team, and I know your dad’s legacy will live on through you. Sandy, you are such a kind and caring person, and I know how much Bob appreciated you and your unwavering support.
Please know that my thoughts are with you all. Bob will be missed, but his memory will live on in the many lives he touched.
