Robert L Wickenheiser, 82
December 12, 2023
Robert L Wickenheiser, 82, of Lititz, passed away surrounded by his family, December 12, 2023. He was born to the late Robert and Mildred Wickenheiser, in Columbia, PA. He retired from the Bridgestone/Firestone Corporation after serving in management for many years there. He was an active member of Saint Anne’s Catholic Church with his wife for over 50 years.
Wick was an avid basketball player and fan, joining the Lancaster Big Five in 1963 and playing for many decades. He loved being part of the team and instilled his passion for the game of basketball and all athletics to his kids, grandchildren and community through coaching and support.
Wick enjoyed motor sports and outdoor activities with friends and family, including boating, camping, snowmobiling, and anything in general that required gas to run! He made many special memories with his family and friends.
Above all else, Wick lived for his wife of 61 years and his family-his original “team” of 5 children, 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, were his pride and joy. He was a pillar of strength and support to all, teaching them how to work hard, be true to their faith in God, and take care of people.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Ann, and his children Eliese Hersh (Dale), Mark Wickenheiser, Jon Wickenheiser (Angel), Jeremy Wickenheiser (Michele), Maria Bryce (Bryan). He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength through his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Deborah Strick (Ron) of Florida.
A funeral mass in honor of Robert’s life will be held at Saint Ann’s and our lady of La Vang Catholic Church, 929 North Duke St., Lancaster, PA 17602, at 10 AM on December 30, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that memorial contributions be made to Saint Anne’s in his honor.

To Ann and all of Bob’s family,
I was so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He was our tire salesman at Kaylor’s Garage for so many years and we and I had many chats about his wife and family when he called on my husband. It was evident he loved his wife and children and was an outstanding husband and father, He will be missed. Prayers for comfort and peace for all.

What a beautiful testimony of great man. My father (Rance Walker of Charter Truck Repair) was great friends with Wick doing business together while Wick was with Firestone along with his son John. Many good chats and outings both Wick and my father had in my Dad’s office and just road trips that they both would talk of their childhood and growing up.
There’s no doubt Wick lived and loved his family. The passing of my father hit Wick hard as my Dad was only 63. Whenever I would run into Wick at the Stauffer’s Wick always shed a tear for him. These men were brother’s from another mother, many of the guys were in the industry they were in,always kind and supportive of each other with a little bit of competition just for fun.
My Dad has been in heaven 23 years and I know these two are up there having a grand ole time up there together just waiting on us. My Dad used to say “As one day close we get one day closer” and boy if that isn’t true. Although we miss our dad terribly we still talk of him as though he were still here, keeping his memory alive.
Father’s like ours had a BIG presence and left a mark wherever they went, to the family keep his mark going.
Our prayers and love are with all of you !
