Robert W. Mooney, Sr., 84

Robert W. Mooney Sr., 84 of Landisville, PA died Friday, April 11, 2008 at the Essa Flory Hospice Center. Robert was born in Lancaster, PA and was the son of the late John R. and Elsie (Burns) Mooney. He was married to Arlene E. (Leisey) Mooney and this coming May 11th they would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.

Robert was employed at Hamilton Watch Company as a tool and die maker retiring in April 1986. He was a 1942 graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School. Robert was a member of St. James Episcopal Church of Lancaster. He was avid hunter for small game and deer. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army and a veteran of WWII in the South Pacific Theatre of Operations serving in Company B of the 304th Signal Corps Operations Battalion.

Surviving beside his wife are three children, Barbara A. Curlee of Neffsville, Robert W. Mooney Jr., husband of Jennie L. (Nagle) of Rexville, NY and Keith B. Mooney, husband of Bonnie L. (Garfield) of Brogue, PA, two grandsons, Kyle Curlee Mooney and Patrick R. Mooney, and a sister Beatrice M. Mack of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Donald Mooney.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday morning at 11 AM from the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Thomas Purdy officiating. Friends may pay their respects to the family at the funeral home from 10 am- 11am . Interment will be private at the Riverview Burial Park.
