Roland E. “Ike” Eichelberger, 73
Roland E. “Ike” Eichelberger, 73, of New Providence, PA, passed away peacefully, surround by his family, on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Lancaster General Hospital.
He was the husband of Audrey F. Spece Eichelberger, to whom he was married 51 years this past September 11th. Born in York, he was the son of the late Kennenth E. Eichelberger and Hester M. Yinger Eichelberger Senft.
Ike had retired from textile designing, and Eichelbergers Drywall which he owned and operated with his daughter, Tina (Little Ike).
He was an avid member of the Experimental Aviation Assn (EAA) and the NRA. He loved history, warplanes, trains, gardening, racing, and his cat, “Barney”. He also loved his time spent in Nova Scotia.
In addition to his wife, Audrey, he is survived by his children, all of Lancaster: David R. married to Sandra Haines, Paul C. married to Kelly Haines, and Tina M. Eichelberger; 4 grandchildren Ryan, Kaitlin, Aaron, and Thomas Haines, and by his 2 sisters Diane married to Michael Tomarkin of York and Gwen married to Jack Bufkin of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael.
A celebration of Ike’s life will be held at a later time. In lieu of sending flowers, please make contributions in his memory to the Salvation Army, 131 S. Hi Dad, it’s been almost 12 years since we lost you. Not a day goes by that I do not think about you. Ma and I talked about you all the time. By now you know we lost her, but I am happy to know she is with you and her other loved ones. We all will be together again someday. Love you Dad.

Dearest Audrey and Tina. I am very very sorry to see this about Ike. I am at work and was on my cell and saw thus. I am so sorry. I lost my husband 6 yrs ago and it us very hard to go through. WE would like to offer our condolences on the death of Roland, he was a great friend of our family and co-worker at times with leonard and the boys on various jobs.
