Ronald E. Shetrompf, 85

Ronald E. Shetrompf, age 85, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 10, 1939, the only son of Earl E. and Miriam E. (Wagner) Shetrompf. He built a family and shared a life with his beloved Barbara A. (Hackart) Shetrompf, for over 61 years until her passing in May 2023.

He dedicated more than1 20 years as a welder and manufacturer for The Heil Company. He was an avid Philadelphia Philles and Eagles fan, and in his leisure, Ron enjoyed fishing, crabbing and boating while vacationing in Northeast Maryland. He and Barbara were also yearly snowbirds, enjoying the winter months at their home in North Port, Florida.

Ron will be sorely missed by his children, Loree, wife of Carl Strickler, of Holtwood, Ronald E. Shetrompf, husband of Nancy, and Rodney “Mick” Shetrompf, husband of Ruth, all of Lancaster, grandchildren, Megan (Ryan), Brandon, Josh (Olivia), Eric (Kadia) and Tyler (Madison), as well as 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in passing by his loving wife Barbara, and a daughter in law, Denise Shetrompf.

The family will greet guests at a viewing on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584, beginning at 11 AM. A funeral service honoring Ron will begin at 12 PM. Interment to follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Ron’s name to Hospice & Community Care.
