Ronald Sheldon Wilson, 73
April 07, 2025
Ronald Sheldon Wilson, 73, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully at home. Born in Tyrone, PA, he was the beloved son of the late Veda Mae (Vaughn) Wilson and Henry Sheldon Wilson.
Ron lived a life rich with connection, laughter, and love. He was the devoted long-time companion of Amy Weisman, and a proud father to Ron Sheldon Wilson Grube of Cleona, Natalie K. Althoff (Corey) of East Berlin, and Correna Turner (Jason) of Elizabethtown. He cherished his four grandchildren: Kenny, Morgan, Hunter and Sarah, who brought him immense joy and pride.
He is survived by his siblings: Bill Wilson of Elizabethtown, Nancy Wilson of New Holland, Sharon Garris of Manheim, Allan Wilson of Bellefonte, and Kelly Wilson of Manheim, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Jim Wilson and sister Laura Hanna.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Ron honorably served his country from 1969 to 1971 as a wheel vehicle mechanic, a role that reflected his natural talent for fixing and building. He was a dedicated member and contributor of both the NRA and the VFW, honoring the bonds of service and patriotism throughout his life.
He found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—visiting Ocean City, Maryland, spending time with family, and heading out on spontaneous road trips. He had a knack for tinkering, a love for riding his motorcycle, and a peaceful patience for fishing. Whether watching classic westerns, playing video games, or cracking a well-timed joke, Ron’s great sense of humor and adventurous spirit lit up every room he entered.
Ron will be laid to rest at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 2:30 PM, with military honors.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, www.pawoundedwarriors.org

I’m going to miss my brother. How we grew up, all the moving, our military experience and where our lives went after we became young adults. Life’s journey has ended for Ron but he will never be forgotten by the family that loved him. Always in my heart. Rest in peace Ron. William and Kathy Wilson
