Rosemary Alapick, 83

Rosemary Alapick, 83, of Leola, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on March 21, 2024. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Rose (Abend) Carpist. She was married 61 years to her beloved husband, George Alapick, Jr. Their marriage occurred on the 25th anniversary of her parents’ wedding.
Rosemary was a 1958 graduate of St. Anne’s Academy in Wilkes-Barre and then attended College Misericordia in Dallas, PA. She had the highest academic scores when she interned at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital where she received her certification in medical technology in 1961. Rosemary then worked at Holy Spirit Hospital in Harrisburg where she was asked to become a supervisor in the Department of Hematology. After her marriage, she decided that her new career would be as a wife and mother. Rosemary was a life-time member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
Rosemary and George traveled extensively around the US, and their favorite places to visit were Las Vegas, Atlantic City, New Orleans, San Francisco, San Diego, and Scottsdale, AZ. She was a big Disney World fan and visited the parks many times. She was also a devout Catholic and is now rejoicing in the arms of her Lord and Savior.
In addition to her husband George, Rosemary is survived by her two daughters: Lisa Alapick of Arlington, VA, and Sherri Alapick (Kenneth Eissner) of Lancaster, PA; nephew, Kevin Foley; niece, Kim Foley; and sisters-in-law Jean Sanders and Debbie Alapick. She was predeceased by her sister Carol Foley and brother-in-law John Foley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 150 Water St, New Holland, PA 17557. Family and friends will be received beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rosemary’s name can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, stjude.org.
