Rudy Oleksa, 88

Rudy Oleksa, 88, of Lancaster passed away Friday, November 24, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Conemaugh, PA he was the son of the late Michael and Zuzanna (Gera) Oleksa. He was the loving husband of Carol A. (Donohue) Oleksa with whom he celebrated over 32 years of marriage.
He was a 1953 graduate of Conemaugh High School. Rudy worked as an estimator for Terre Hill Concrete for over 18 years before retiring.
Rudy proudly served in the US Air Force.
He was a longtime member of St. Philip’s Catholic Church where he sang in the adult & resurrection choir, was a member of the Men’s Club and was a 3rd Degree Knight in the St. Philip the Apostle Knights of Columbus, Council #17028. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Christina M., wife of Paul Eichelberger of Landisville, Gregory S. Oleksa husband of Pamela of Lancaster; stepson, Jonathan C. Sload husband of Ester of Lancaster and stepdaughter, Laurie A. Pretzman wife of Richard of Phoenix, AZ. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Scott and nine siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville Pike, Lancaster, PA 17603. Interment will be private in St. Joseph’s New Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends will be received from 10-11AM at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rudy’s memory may be made to Fund Development Office, Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development, 625 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
