Russel E. Corle, 78
December 27, 2023
Russel E. Corle, 78, of Landisville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 27, 2023. Born in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Merle and Lillian (Allison) Corle. He would have celebrated 35 years of marriage in January with his beloved wife, Bonnie (Law) Corle.
Russel was a graduate of Windber High School. He worked for 33 years at High Concrete Industries, retiring as a field representative in 2013. Russel also worked part-time for Manheim Auto Auction after his retirement. He was a former volunteer for Zion’s Angels Relay for Life team. He loved being the Bingo caller for their Designer Bag Bingo events. He will be affectionately remembered for his love of the Philadelphia Phillies; so much so that he would travel to Florida for their spring training. His goal was to visit all 30 ballparks when the Phillies were playing, which was cut short due to his illness, but he did get to experience 14 of them. He also enjoyed spending time in the outdoors hunting and fishing. He and his wife Bonnie liked musical theatre and often visited the American Music Theatre, Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre, and Fulton Theatre. He also cherished moments spent with family and friends, especially the pride he had watching granddaughter Mallory’s and daughter Kristina’s recital and theatre events.
He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Lititz and was an usher and teller there.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Amedisys Hospice, especially Brittany, Heather, Kate, Lisa, and Kim; the physicians and health care providers at the Heart Group, Dr. Rajiv Sharma at Hypertension and Kidney Specialists, the nurses and staff at Davita Manheim Pike at Home; Kimberly Brown from Penn State Health Lime Spring; and a special thank you to Dr. Roy Brod and staff from Lancaster Retina Specialists.
In addition to his wife, Russel is survived by 3 children: Michael Corle, Jennifer Beaner, and Kristina McVey (Henri); granddaughter Mallory McVey; brothers: Merle, Jr., James, and Charles (Mickey) Corle; sisters: Nancy Logan and Shirley Mesaros; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his napping buddy, J.T., his beloved cat. He was predeceased by his brother Clay Corle.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 10-11 AM on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 26 Owl Hill Rd, Lititz, PA 17543. A memorial service will begin at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Russel’s name to Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church.

My heart goes out to Bonnie for her loss. He was always fun to be with at our office parties, and was never afraid to pitch in and help when there was work to be done. You’ll be in my thoughts and prayers as I attend the funeral of a relative in Pittsburgh Saturday.

I was saddened when I heard of passing of Russ. My condolences to Bonnie and the Corle Family.
I would like to thank Russ and Bonnie for their dedicated service to Zion of East Petersburg when they attended the East Petersburg Zion Lutheran Church. I always enjoyed their company at Zion, and at the American Music theater during the Christmas show.
Sincerely,
