Samuel J. “Sharkey” Rubert, 93

Samuel J. “Sharkey” Rubert, 93, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the Southeastern Veterans Center in Spring City, PA. Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late John and Jenny Santoro Rubert, and the husband of the late Lorraine M. Rubert who passed in 2014.
Samuel honorably served his country with the US Navy during World War II. He worked as an independent long-distance trucker driver.
The last of his immediate family, Samuel is survived by nephews, Michael Malick, Jonathan Raymond and Brett Malick, all from Pottstown, and nieces, Constance Jackley, North Carolina, Bonnie Barth, Pottstown, Patrice Herbst, Tennessee and Jan McDermott, Philadelphia. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brother Pasqual Ruberto, sisters Lucy Kovatto, Mary Raymond Radel and Annamae Malick, and nephews, Rocco Kovatto and Eric Kovatto.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 18, 2017, at St. Aloysius Cemetery, Buchert Road, Pottstown, PA, 19464. Memorial contributions in Samuel’s memory may be offered to Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org or to the Southeastern Veterans Center at www.donate.dmva.pa.gov
