My dear, Sam, a man with a constant smile and high energy. He was there when I got my first job right out of college. I taught at Centerville Elementary School. Sam often helped to put things in perspective. He had a joy for life and people. He left me often with a smile. I will miss his kind words and very pleasant personality!

Oh my…..Sam Paone was a true Legend! Lancaster Catholic sports were truly blessed for his years of “keeping the stats” at both football and basketball games. He was on the sideline when I played and I smiled when I saw him still there for my sons.
May he rest in the peace of the Lord.

I taught for 35 years, and the most joyful were with Sam and Smitty at Centerville Elementary. Every planning session was like a scene from Cheers – Sam was Coach and Smitty Norm! Sam was beloved by his students and a supportive team member! He was a hard worker – A fact that he liked to keep hidden! He was one of those few genuinely nice men! God Bless you, Sam! And thanks for the memories!

For almost two months I got to spend time with Uncle Sam on a daily basis. Some days were more challenging than others , but all in all we had fun, Dominic would bring him to our home for dinner then off to the club which he enjoyed. Frances and John spent endless hours visiting him , taking care of his needs.
He was like a father to Dominic and Frances. Everyone loved Uncle Sam.
Vaso (My husband Dominic was Uncle Sam’s nephew.

I don’t know where to begin- what a friend! Sam and my late husband Jim Kopf were lifelong friends-true friends. Sam was such a giving person- his time, his friendship, his support. Dedication was his middle name- to friends, family and his beloved Lancaster Catholic High School. Sam will be missed by anyone lucky to have known him.
Happy to have been a friend,
Linda Kopf

‘Sam’ … you will be missed by so many people. As I look back, I remember the many days you visited our house (James/Teresa Hager). You taught me the meaning of ‘point spread’ when you came over Wednesday nights to finalize your wagers for the week. Despite my mom’s protests, you even placed a few bets for me. Our Sunday dinners with the family always ended with raucous games of Jeopardy. I never won but you let me ‘read’ the answers.
But most of all, I will remember two things:1. How you took care of my mom (your sister Teresa) when age forced her to transition to a retirement home. You kept her spirits high during a very difficult time.
2. The respect and kindness you gave my father (James). You always made sure I understood how great a man he was and to emulate him.
I will always be grateful for your actions.
You leave behind so many people who were impacted by you.
Love ‘Joey’
