Sandra L. Frey, 82

Sandra Lynne Hamilton / Frey, born on March 3, 1942, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025, at the age of 82. Sandra was the beloved daughter of the late Henry F. Hamilton and Gladys M. Hamilton, and sister to her cherished brother, John R. Hamilton.
Sandra is survived by her three devoted sons, P. Richard Hamilton, Timothy M. Frey, and Christopher S. Frey. She was predeceased by her daughter, Theresa L. Frey, who passed at birth. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Jeremiah J. Hamilton and Rikki J. Smith, and one great-grandchild, Hamilton S. Smith. Sandra’s family was the center of her world, and she was deeply proud of her children and grandchildren.
Sandra lived a vibrant and accomplished life. From an early age, she demonstrated an innate talent for performance, beginning with dance and excelling as a marimba player in the “Hamilton Trio,” which toured the Pocono region with her mother and brother. Sandra’s exceptional skill as a Baton Twirler earned her numerous accolades, and she was recognized in the prestigious “Who’s Who of Baton Twirling” from 1954 to 1958. Her talents extended to professional ice skating, where she performed with the renowned touring show “Ice Capades” from 1957 to 1959.
After her performing career, Sandra dedicated herself to teaching others, sharing her expertise in baton twirling and ice skating at venues such as Park City’s Ice Rink, the Host Farm, and the Sherwood Knoll Hotel in Lancaster. Sandra also served her community as an EMT with West Lampeter Township’s ambulance crew during the 1970s and worked as a secretary for the sheriff’s office.
Sandra was a talented and passionate cook and baker, delighting her family and friends with her creations. Her creativity and love of craftsmanship were evident in her sewing projects, and her compassion extended to her love of animals. Her warmth, charm, and ability to bring joy to those around her left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on January 31, 2025, at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. Family and friends will be received from 10AM until the time of the service. Private Interment in Salunga Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
