Shane D. Burger, 52
January 31, 2022
Shane D. Burger, 52 of Waynesboro, passed away unexpectedly on Monday January 31, 2022. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of Carol Carter and the late Lawrence “Larry” Carter.
Shane was a man who lived his life in extremes. He was the lead guitarist for over 10 years in the band Lead Foot, and was a great musical talent. Not only was he an expert musician, but also a gifted artist, who could imagine and create something from nothing. His art was simply stunning. In addition, he had a love for grilling! Life had not always been easy and Shane had his fair share of struggles, but the people closest to him knew how deeply he loved.
In addition to his mother Carol, Shane is survived by his son Shane D. Burger II (Nikole), daughter Sadie Burger, 2 grandsons, his sister Sloane Tucker and three nieces Kelsey Garman, Kali Nazay and Emily Shah.
A time for friends and family to gather will take place on Friday, February 25 from 4-5:30 PM, with a memorial service to start at 5:30 PM at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Cremation at 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543.

Rip Shane Deepest sympathy to all You touched the lives of so many with your passion for your kids, music, art, and cooking

Oh Shane… I met you when you were around 11 or 12 and just one of the neighborhood kids. You used to sit at the picnic table in my yard and sketch. You were so talented even at that age. Then you adopted one of my shepherd puppies that I adored. You later brought that puppy for some visits which showed your enormous heart. We talked about that puppy carrying bricks in its mouth a few years ago and I’m glad we had that chance to reminisce. This world is now missing a soul that made it more beautiful to so many for so many reasons. Shane, I wish you could have stayed on this side but I know you comforted with love no matter what. Please feel this love from us because we did from you when you were here. Sometimes wishes are hardest when they don’t come true. Your peace is what I pray for you…and I KNOW it has come true. All the love from my family to you Shane and to your family down here.

Shane was a good friend. Very sincere & fun to do business with @ Terrace Music. My kids threw pizza in the Electrovoice VP’s New Mercedes one night & we laughed for months. R.I.P. Sir !

I got my first electric guitar from Terrace Music in 1994, Shane picked it out for me. Shane, and Steve Creeder too, worked at the shop back then and inspired loads of young people to try new styles of playing and gave advice. Nobody around here could play like those two guys, that’s the truth. And Shane could inspire himself whenever and play something off-the-wall that no one else would ever think to play. All these years later, in my 40s, I love to play and play as often as possible. I am so sorry that Shane has left us, and offer my condolences to his family and friends. Shane brought certain colors to this world, and most people who simply met him (let alone the ones that actually knew him) will never forget him. Thank you God for giving us the time with Shane that we had. – Walt

Shane worked for me as a van driver. I watched Sadie grow up in that van, riding with her Dad. We talked alot about places he could take her for fun day trips, and I got to see a multitude of pictures from their fun. My son (who payed bass guitar and loved classic rock) and I saw him play with LeadFoot, and I got to see a lot of his artwork. That talent was something Sadie shares as well, and he often showed me her work with pride. He was awesome with the special needs kids he transported. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I will unfortunately be out of state during the memorial, or I would certainly have been there. My deepest condolences to all of his family and friends. Like many artist, Shane felt everything at 100% – joy, love, pain, and sadness – which made his art special and his life sometimes difficult. Please remember the joy and love when you think of him!

I met Shane through a friend and we became friends. He told me all about his life, family, and music but I never heard him play! He was in a lot of pain throughout that time. I’m trusting he’s home with the Lord now and out of pain from the struggles of this life. Praying especially for his daughter, whom he loved and missed so much. May you find peace knowing that he’s with Jesus now and look forward to seeing him again when you can dance on the clouds and sing for joy with your dad. Here’s a verse I hope helps you in the meantime. “Give Jesus all your hurt, all your cares, because He loves you.” I Peter 5:7

Shane, I knew you back so many years ago when I tried out for one of your bands and through BCR and only within the past few months had reconnected to you. Realizing what an incredible person you were, I wish I had all those years back to get to know you even better. We had so much in common and I’m going to miss our daily talks on Facebook. Some thing I truly was enjoying a lot. Condolences go out to his friends and family. I was only beginning to know the wonderful person that you guys did your whole lives.
