Sharon Lynn Sierer, 79
August 03, 2024
Sharon Lynn Sierer, 79, of Columbia began her transition into her eternal life on Saturday, August 3, 2024, peacefully at Luther Acres. Born in Florida, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Kopko Snyder. Sharon was the loving wife of Charles E. Sierer Jr., and they shared 62 years of wonderful marriage together.
Sharon proudly graduated from Millersburg Area High School and later went on to work in the same school district as a secretary. Later in life she would be found working in the Pro Shop at Overlook Golf Course.
She was an active member of the Hempfield United Methodist Church community, worshipping on Sunday mornings and attending small group Bible studies.
Sharon was an avid golfer, loved to bowl, and watch any sport when finding the time to do so. Some of her other favorite activities were reading, playing cards and board games as well as going out to eat.
Sharon will be remembered and celebrated for the way she devoted her life to supporting her loving family. She never missed a chance to cheer on her children and grandchildren from the sidelines or audience of any sporting event, function or performance, Entertaining and cooking for her family was something she found great joy in, which led to almost 40 years of family reunions and countless memories filled with laughter and full bellies.
In addition to her husband, Sharon is survived by her son, David, husband of Annie Sierer, and four grandchildren, Danika Brown, Alexandra, Benjamin and William Sierer. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Drue Feilmeier.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Sharon’s Celebration of Life at Charles F. Sending heartfelt condolences to the Sierer family. I helped Sherry a lot in the school office doing misc jobs for her. I probably got in the way more than I helped?😊 She was a great mentor and friend in those days and took good care of me when I needed it most. Prayers for peace and comfort to her family during this difficult time.🙏🩷🙏

I am so sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing. I have so many memories of her at UD football games tailgating and cheering on David and later Dru’s daughter Danika. She was an amazing woman and I know her legacy will live on forever within David and his family and her grandchildren. Thinking of her family and keeping them in my prayers.
