Shirley A. (Homsher) Dimitris, 78

Shirley A. (Homsher) Dimitris, 78, of Akron, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, June 2, 2014.
Born in Lancaster, she was the wife of Gust Dimitris, Jr. of Akron, and the daughter of the late Elmer T. Homsher, Sr. and Florence (Smeltz) Homsher.
She worked as a machine operator for National Novelty Brush Co., Lancaster, for a number of years until her retirement.
Shirley was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Lititz, and a former member of Grace EC Church, Lancaster.
Shirley enjoyed quilting, reading, puzzles, and a good game of cards. She loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be missed by those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by 4 children: Peggy A. Koller of Columbia; Tina M. Bicksler and her husband Dennis of Lititz; Gust H. Dimitris, III and his wife DeAnn of Ephrata; and Scott D. Dimitris and his wife Michelle of East Earl; 8 grandchildren: Nathan Koller, Stephanie (Jason) Carzola, Kristen (Aaron) Rutter, Andrew (Deidra) Bicksler, Michele Koller, Amber (Keith) McGuigan, and Cole and Sophia Dimitris; 9 great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Bicksler, Hosanna Bicksler, Hollyann Carzola, Riley Ann Koller, Noah Bicksler, Marin Carzola, Shalah Bicksler, Kalan McGuigan, and Ava Rutter; and 2 sisters: Catherine Hoar of Quarryville and Sarah Long of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer T. Homsher, Jr. and a sister, Anna Thatcher.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, June 6, 2014 at Trinity EC Church, 44 E. Orange St., Lititz, PA 17543 with Pastors Harry Dow and Ryan Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be private.
