Shirley Ann Gray, 84
January 03, 2024
Shirley Ann Gray, 84, of Lancaster, PA, went on to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024, while surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Lancaster, PA. She was the daughter of the late Sylvester Glenn and Bertha Mae Evans.
Shirley truly enjoyed serving the community; she did so by working as a nurses aide for Conestoga View, a teachers aide for the Headstart Program, and as a driver for the Blind Association. Shirley was a faithful believer in Christ. She gave her life to the Lord and became a lifelong member of Mission of Hope Church. She was a dedicated missionary and was involved in community outreach visiting hospitals, nursing homes, juvenile detention centers, prisons, and much more. Any opportunity she had she enjoyed sharing her testimony about how God changed and saved her life. She enjoyed singing, shopping, hosting, cooking, homemaking, sharing/talking about the goodness of the Lord, and most of all spending time with family and friends.
She was a devoted wife to her late husband Charles Leroy Gray who passed May 14, 2007, and a loving mother to her 8 children Terri, Sonya, Alicia, Alfred Lamont, Warren Douglas, Lanell, Charles Tykee, and Tonya (late William). She was the proud grandmother to 15 grandchildren: Tyree, Marvin, LaKiesha, LaTerra, Sheena, Michael, Angela, Lemar, Levon, Ashley, Tresa, Aaliyah, Danielle, Briana, and Jelani; 26 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her grandson Lemar and great-grandson Noah; her sisters Hannah, Candice, and Ruthie; and her brothers Bobby, Sylvester, and Jonathan. She is survived by her siblings Reginald, Rosemarie, and Marcia, in addition to a host of loving family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584 on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, with viewing from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM.
