Condolences to the Family

To the family of Sophie Ruth: Our deepest sympathy to all of you! My husband and I were so very sorry to hear this sad news. Such a kind, dear lady! It seems as if we just spoke to her! Sophie always spoke highly of her grandsons and family, and asked after ours, especially about our new granddaughter, whom Sophie got to see at Thanksgiving! She tried to get us to adopt her grandsons dog after our dog Chester died. She always noticed when my picture was in the paper for some theater production. We will really miss talking with her! A truly friendly and caring neighbor. That’s so sad and so sudden and I can’t walk by her house without thinking of her. With sincerest sympathy,

So sorry to hear of Sophie’s passing. My Mother, Betty Bollinger and Sophie were friends and co-workers at RCA. Heard many of stories of the two of them together. I talked to Sophie a few times on the phone after Mom passed and she was a lovely lady. Thoughts and prayers to the family.

My condolences to your family on the passing of your mother. I met Sophie when I was a child. She lived next door to my aunt, Ruth Hambright, who always had an update about Sophie or David when I came to visit. I know she was a dear friend to Ruth and they shared their RCA memories, cookies and fudge. I loved her accent and listening to her front porch stories on Madison Street. Those were the days! I hope all the great memories others share with you and those you hold dear in your heart will see you through this difficult time.

Mein herzliches Beileid. So sad to hear the news of her entering heaven. Such a friendly, sweet woman. I first met her on one of her strolls through the neighborhood. We had just moved in and she invited me to tea. We communicated a little in german, much to my surprise, she is Yugoslavian. I once made her a wreathe for her front door, you would have thought I gave her million dollars. She was beyond grateful for that small gesture.
I will miss her! Auf Wiedersehen, bis wir uns wieder sehen.

My Aunt Sophie will be terribly missed. Everyone always enjoyed when she would come to our home. Our daughters loves her so much. My brother and Aunt Sophie would always joke with each other and make us all laugh. Having family dinners just won’t be the same without Aunt Sophie around. Ken, Elisabeth, Kenny, Kristen, and I will always hold Sophie close to our hearts.
