Susan M. Kurtz

Susan McQueen Kurtz of Lancaster, PA died at home on Friday, May 8th, 2009.

Susan was born in Lancaster on August 17, 1953.  She was the daughter of Mimi McQueen and the late James R. McQueen, Jr.  Her loving husband of 33 years, John I. Kurtz, and her son and daughter in-law, John and Becky Kurtz, survive her.  Additionally, she is survived by her four siblings and their families: Ann McQueen of Boston, Massachusetts; Jim McQueen of Boston, MA; Kathleen MacQueen and Peter and Alex Stader of Brooklyn, New York; and Henry, Diane and J. Parr McQueen of Lancaster.

Susan, known as Susie, was a graduate of Linden Hall, Lititz, PA; Pine Manor College, Chestnut Hill, MA; and, Lafayette College, Easton, PA.  Susie was a generous and caring member of the Lancaster community. A lover of the arts, gardening and a collector of dolls, she was involved in The Janus School and Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.

The funeral service is private.  Family and friends are invited to the home of Susan and John Kurtz from 11:30-1:00, Wednesday, May 13th for an informal celebration of her life.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to The Janus School, 205 Lefever Road, Mount Joy, PA 17552. Sorry for your loss.  John this is Luis’s  mom.  I really sorry,  anytime, if you need me let me knows.  You know you can count we us.  I know
Jahryada and Luis love you a lot.    I loss my father years ago and I still miss him, but every time I remember him, when something happen that he was used to do, and specially when someone loss a love one.  I will pray for you and your dad to have peace in your heart.  Nobody can feel what you feel and nobody can understand either.  Just remember her is painful; but remember the good time is peace. I really sorry again, take care of your father, your self and  Becky,too.   Love you Myrna, Luis, Jahryada and Eysabella.

     Sincere condolences to you and your entire family with this tragic loss. I can not find the words to help you with this. Family and friends will assist you and will be a great shoulder to lean on …. use them! Although, Susan is no longer with us, her legacy will continue on forever!! John, you and I have not seen each other since we were kids.I still remember you visiting us in Maryland with your Mother and Little Aunt Maggie. Your Mother was my god-mother and my Mother, Thelma Hagelgans Reifsnyder, was related to Lillian. I heard about your Mother and now your wife and I just wanted you to know that both Mother and I are sorry for your loss.
