Tam Viet Pham, 92

February 23, 2025

The incomparable life of Tam Viet Pham, age 92 of Lancaster, the patriarch of the Pham family, passed from this life to the hands of God in the early morning of February 23, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Nam Dinh, Vietnam, he was the son of the late Nhi Viet Pham and Mo Thi Pham and the beloved husband of Tieu Truong.

Married on August 20, 1954, Tam and Tieu started a family after moving to the south of Vietnam, where he served in the South Vietnamese army. On the day Saigon fell, April 30, 1975, they managed to get themselves and six of their children safely to the United States settling in Lancaster, PA. His oldest daughter and her family joined them in 1980 making the family whole again.

Tam worked for two years at Blacksteel before taking a position at RCA, which then became Burle Industries, where he retired after many years of dedicated service.
He loved his Vietnamese heritage, was patriotic to his adopted country, USA, and lived a simple but very happy fulfilling life dedicated to God, his wife and family, and friends.

The legacy that Tam leaves behind to cherish his memory includes his loving wife of 71 years, Tieu, and his 7 children: Chau (Thanh) of Lancaster, Luc of Lancaster, Thuan (Nicole) of Lancaster, Van (Khoa Nguyen) of Texas, Thanh (Meghan) of New Jersey, Lan (Andrew Phung) of Texas, and Huong-Erin (Tung Tran) of Virginia; his 20 grandchildren: Phuc (Shirl), Mai (Phung), Sandy (Troy), Ryan (Annie), Ashleigh (Naeb), Asia, Amy (Nick), Brianna, Jared, Lauren (Adam), Kimberly (Michael), Alex (Madeline), Mia, Michael, Gracie, Kayla, Eliana, Alyssa, Lexi and Tyler; and his 9 and counting great-grandchildren: Sylvia, Kyle, Dylan, Evans, Elliot, Adalynne, Wesson, Margot and Isla. As the eldest of 10 siblings, he is survived by five brothers and sisters and their family all in Vietnam.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, and two children.

Our world is dimmer, but Heaven shines brighter.

The immediate family will receive family and friends on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. 17543 from 6pm to 8pm with a prayer service at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025 at St Anne and Our Lady of La Vang Church, 929 N Duke St, Lancaster, PA 17602 at 10am. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
