Thelma Eshleman, 93

Thelma Eshleman, 93, of West Lampeter Twp. and formerly of East Lampeter Twp., went home to be with Jesus, who she came to know when she was a young girl, on July 12, 2017. Born in Pequea Twp. to the late Roy S. and Virgie Goss Bechtold. Her husband Richard B. Eshleman died October 28, 2014 after 65 years of marriage.
She worked at Armstrong during World War II, Hamilton Watch and then Yorgey’s Fine Cleaning. Thelma faithfully attended Lancaster Grace Evangelical Congregational Church for many years where she served on the church board. She enjoyed working in the garden and freezing vegetables.
Thelma appreciated the good care her son John and wife Phyllis gave her.
Thelma is survived by 4 children, Joy, wife of Dave Mason of Manor Twp., Dr. Jere Eshleman, husband of Marilyn (Lausch) of Williamsport, John Eshleman, husband of Phyllis (Smith) of West Lampeter Twp. and Jay Eshleman, husband of Beverly (Nolt) of West Lampeter Twp. Also surviving her are 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Thelma was preceded in death by her brothers Melvin, Roy and Chester Bechtold and sisters Alta Frey and Mary Mowery.
A special thank you to the Purple Team Nurses of Hospice & Community Care for their care and support. An extra special thank you to granddaughter Kari for providing excellent nursing care during these last months.
Services will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 East King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602 on Monday, July 17, 2017. Viewing will take place from 12-1 PM followed by the funeral at 1 PM. Pastor Mark Ammerman officiating. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace E.C. Church, 415 S. To Dr. Jere Eshleman & family: We offer our condolences to you on the passing of your mother. We are sorry that we will be unable to attend the service at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home due to our having prior commitments on Monday. We offer our prayers for your support during this time of grieving. Losing a family member is always a very sad time.

Joy, Dave and family, I’m so sorry to hear of your moms passing. The few times I spent talking to her she was such a pleasant loving woman. She will be missed. Please take comfort in knowing she’s in heaven with our Lord. May God bless all of you during this sad time.
