Theodore H. Leibrand, 82

Theodore H. Leibrand, age 82, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024. Born in Philadelphia, Ted was the son of the late Theodore H. and Dorothy M. (McGinn) Leibrand.
Ted loved going to the beach and spent many summers in Wildwood, NJ. In his teens, he played the accordion and performed at the Philadelphia Academy of Music as well as on local tv. He also danced on American Bandstand. Ted graduated from Northeast Catholic High School for Boys in 1959.
Ted was drafted into the Army and served in the 208th Military Police Company in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. After receiving an honorable discharge, he returned to work at Acme Markets. He retired from Acme as a general merchandise buyer after 42 years. For over a decade he coached basketball for St. Anthony’s Parochial School as well as Little League baseball and football.
Ted enjoyed Philadelphia sporting events, going to the casino, and spending time with his family.
Ted is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia (Trish) Leibrand, nee Miller; his children: Gregory Leibrand (husband of Marcia) and Catherine Tanner (wife of Chad); his grandchildren: Joseph Ransing (husband of Emily), Zachary Leibrand, Scott Walters, and Sean Tanner; and one great grandchild, Rowan Ransing.
Family will receive friends Friday, March 15, 2024, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E Orange St, Lancaster, PA 17602 from 10am to 11am with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11am. Burial will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Rd, Annville, PA 17003 on March 27, 2024, at 11:30. A funeral procession will depart Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA at 9:30am.

Ted was my friend for over 40 years. We stayed in touch to the very end. He was a good man and a fine friend. I’ll always have good thoughts about him. Love and sympathy to Trish at this sad time. Peace and Love.
