Theresa Marie “Mom” Barbieri Castarella, 88

Theresa Castarella, of Lancaster, age almost 89, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Gasperina, Italy. Theresa was just 12 years old when she came over by ship to the United States.
During her lifetime she worked at a shoe factory and then became a full time homemaker. She was very active and outgoing and always ready to go somewhere. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary at the AmVets Post 19, and was affectionately called “Mom” by practically everyone.
She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Donna Marie Castarella, son-in-law, Joseph Commero, loving brother, Salvatore A. Barbieri, sister-in-law, Leslie J. Solove, nephew Daniel J. Solove, husband of Pamela S. Solove, grandnephew Griffin Solove, niece Lorraine Catherine, wife of Charles Frick, twins grandniece Catherine Frick and grandnephew Carrington Frick, nephew, James Barbieri, husband of Denise Barbieri, grand niece, Ashten Barbieri Skupney, and grandnephew Ryan Barbieri. Theresa also leaves behind her darling Corgi, Angel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Bud” Castarella, her brother-in-law Ben Castarella, her mother Mary Rauti Barbieri and her dad, Joseph Barbieri.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA at 11:00 A.M. with The Rev. Dr. Barbara J. Seras officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until time of service.
