He was born on November 23, 1981, in Englewood, New Jersey, and he departed this life peacefully on March 8, 2025, at the age of 43, surrounded by his loving family.
Anky’s life was a tapestry woven with love and care for those around him. He was a gruff exterior with a sweet side, embodying the qualities of an amazing father and a protective husband to his beloved wife, Christina Michael. He cherished his role as a father, instilling wisdom and values in his daughter Leia, prioritizing their happiness above all else. A loyal friend, Anky maintained lifelong friendships, serving as a beacon of support and encouragement to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
In addition to his personal virtues, he was distinguished by his honorable service as a Corporal from the United States Marine Corps. He was a man of faith, whose strong devotion provided guidance through life’s challenges, influencing all who met him.
He is survived by his beloved wife Christina, their daughter Leia, his sister, Thien-ai Hartop, wife of Kevin Hartop of NH, and his nieces, Ava, Evie, Isla, and Lily. He was adored by all his extended family especially his aunts and uncles, including Christine Nguyen and her children, Olivia and Sophia, and countless friends. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Pastor Tin Xuan and Kim Anh (Dao) Nguyen.

I thank you and your family for their hospitality. Anky was a master at the smoker and grill. He will be missed. On an interesting note we were born in the same town. May you and your daughter find joy and happiness together in the years to come. May peace be with you.

I am heartbroken to hear about the passing of my dear brother-in-law, Thien-an Dao Nguyen, “Anky.” His absence leaves a profound void in our lives that will never be filled. Anky was more than just a family member; he was a source of strength, laughter, and unwavering support. His love for Christina and Leia was evident in everything he did, and he truly embodied what it means to be a devoted husband and father.
Anky had a unique ability to connect with everyone around him, often bringing joy and comfort to those in need. His gruff exterior masked a heart of gold, and he always knew how to make us smile, even in tough times. I will forever cherish the memories we created together, the laughter we shared, and the kindness he showed to all of us.
As we navigate this painful loss, I want to express my deepest condolences to Christina, Leia, and the entire family. Anky’s legacy will live on in our hearts, and we will honor him by carrying forward the values he instilled in us.

I remember sitting in the lunchroom in middle school, before classes started talking about video games with you and some others, mostly Super Mario if I remember correctly. It’s funny how we remember these little moments, but I guess it’s the little things in life. I know you’ll be looking down on your family, watching over them and even though you are not physically there anymore, I hope they will remember the little moments and smile. May those little moments like shining stars in the sky bring light to their darkest days. May you be in Heaven with God showering blessings down on them. Rest in peace.
