I recently found this memorial site for Tom. Tom Hyson and I were members of the Pennsylvania State Police and partners on the first Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Strike Force for Narcotics and Corruption. Tom was a true friend and the most fearless man I ever had the honor of qworking with. I had the privilege and blessing of singing at Tom’s funeral. He is truly missed. Love you my brother.

Tommy and I were “bunky buddies” in the Maries at Parris Island in 1962. He and I became great friends and spent all our liberty hours together when we were stationed at Camp LeJeune after boot camp. After LeJeune, we went our separate ways, but I always had fond memories of our friendship. In those days Jacksonville, NC was segregated, but that didn’t matter to Tommy and me – we went everywhere together and suffered the consequesnces together on many occasion. Recently, I kept thinking of our friendship and started to search for Tommy’s wherabouts. I’m sorry I didn’t start my search before this. Tommy was a great person and a great Marine and I’m not surprised that he did so much good. The world is a better place because of him. I will always keep Tommy in my prayers. Until we meet again Tommy, SEMPER FI

Tom and I served in the U.S.Marine Corps together at Camp LeJeune, in Hawaii, and together in Vietnam. We were discharged only weeks apart and he became a Pennsylvania State trooper and I became a Maryland State Trooper. We knew each others family and visited often after the Marine Corps. Tom was a once in a lifetime friend….he had a natural sense of right and wrong and believed in fairness for all. I found out that he passed from a return Christmas card from his wife…….I’m sorry this is late but ” Hey Tommy…..I’ll see ya in heaven one day soon ” Joe Kelly

My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this sad time. Tom was a great man and his community will miss him. I will miss his greeting to Ann and I on Thursdays when he would come into the Safety Coalition for his shift. I got to first meet Tom through Weed and Seed Program. I will remember him as a good man who was dedicated to his community and determined to make it better and it was better because of him.
