Thomas J. Rohrer, 70
January 15, 2022
Thomas J. Rohrer, 70, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Hospice & Community Care, Mt. Joy. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Clement and Leah Mary (Girvin). Tom was the loving husband of Leslie (Eshelman) Rohrer, with whom he celebrated 45 years of marriage.
Tom was a 1970 graduate of Manheim Township High School and was a co-owner of Penwood Landscape Co.
Tom, always the adventurer, liked to travel, play football and ski with his brothers when he was younger. He loved weekend trips to the beach and always looked forward to the family’s annual vacation in Fenwick Island, DE. Leslie and Tom’s backyard pool was the center attraction for Tom and his entire family. More than anything, he loved his family and friends and found time spent with them more valuable than anything he did. His amazing sense of humor and ability to make everyone smile will be missed by many.
In addition to his wife, Leslie, Tom is survived by his daughters: Cindy Jenkins, wife of Greg, of Lancaster, and Jen Charles, wife of Jeff, of Millersville; grandchildren: Hadley and Jace; and siblings: Clem, husband of Jan; Michael, husband of Heidi; Peter, husband of Mary; and Andy.
Services celebrating Tom’s life will be held at 11AM, Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home from 9AM to 11AM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tom’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice & Community Care.

Leslie and Andy, Hello. I am sorry to hear this news that Andy passed along to me. I always enjoyed the banter and quips from Tom in the day. It was such a startle to hear so quickly. I can hope that the entire family will celebrate his life. Best to All the Rohrers at this time. David Bagenstose

I issued our condolences in an earlier post but didn write our names. I do have to include another note worth mentioning. As a lot of friends can attest, Tom had to be the funniest guy I knew. When he told a story in a group setting, I’m not kidding but at times and a lot of times it was so funny that he had everyone laughing so hard it brought tears to they’re eyes.I’m sure Tom has everyone upstairs laughing right now. I’m sure you’re well known by now.

Hi Leslie
Sarah and I were so sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. Over the years I’ve told hundreds of stories about Tom. He was one of the funniest people I ever knew. I’m sure everyone has said that. Every time I plant a tree or build a deck I think of Tom. He taught me everything I know about landscaping, and with humor. He made me laugh on the worst days. More than anything else he taught me about about family and friendship. We feel so fortunate to have had Tom in our lives. We know you are surrounded by others who loved him as well. We know this will help you. We have endless good memories of you and Tom.

Leslie and family,My sincere condolences go out to you and your family in the passing of Tom. Knowing Tom since grade school days, he certainly was a true friend who was never at a loss for words and you could always count on him to put a smile on your face. You take care knowing Tom fought the hard fight and is now resting in a better place and is no longer in pain.
Rest in peace my friend.
