Thomas M. Fleming, 70, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at his residence.
He was the husband of Sharon “Sherry” M. Kendig Fleming, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage this past May 25th. Born in Holyoke, MA, he was the son of the late William and Esther Griffin Fleming.
Tom had worked as a quality control manager at Kerr Glass for 20 years. Prior to working at Kerr, he had worked for the Schick Corportation.
He was a New England Patriots fan and loved Chinese food, especially going to Hong Kong Garden on Columbia Ave.
Tom was a member of St. Leo The Great Catholic Church where he served as a Special Minister.
A US Navy veteran, he served as Yeoman Second Class, serving during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his wife, Sherry, he is survived by his children: David M. married to Lori Fleming of Holtwood, Tracey L. married to Thomas O’Shea of Lancaster; his 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; his brother James Fleming of Columbus, IN and his two sisters, Mary LaBianca of Northampton, PA and Cyndi Norton of Weymouth, MA. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce, and his sister, Elizabeth Stearns.
Friends will be received on Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 10:30AM-11AM at St. Leo The Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA , with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11AM, the Rev. Peter Hahn as Celebrant. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
