Thomas R. Hiemenz, 67
July 06, 2023
Thomas R. Hiemenz, 67, of Quarryville passed away July 6, 2023. He was born to Carl and Patricia Hiemenz in the winter of 1956. A Lancaster County native, he graduated from Mannheim Township High School in 1974. He went on to become an owner/operator for 40 years driving truck and transporting goods and produce all over the country. He visited all the states except Hawaii and Alaska in his career. He dedicated 40 years to this and then became a dispatcher until his retirement in 2020.
Thomas married his wife of 48 years, Dorinda, in 1975 and they had three children together. He was well traveled and owned his own 18-wheelers. Thomas enjoyed building things, old western movies, and deep-sea fishing. He was also fond of many kinds of music, but especially loved The Beatles, The Eagles and The Who. He was very close with his family and loved his grandchildren dearly and spent much of his time with them.
Left to honor his memory is his wife Dorinda Hiemenz; his children Chad Hiemenz husband of Brandi, Cristi Peachey, and Candice Gehman wife of Jason; his grandchildren Isabelle, Shelby, Knox and Gage; his siblings B. Michael Hiemenz, Lisa Mallin, and Carol Krieder; and his parents Carl and Patricia Hiemenz. Thomas is preceded in his passing by his dear Grandmother Miriam White.
A celebration of life will be held July 11, 2023, at Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home, 2421 Willow Street Pike beginning at 4pm and concluding at 7pm. Flowers may be sent to the above address the day of service. Thomas will be sorely missed by all those who loved him.

I am so upset about his passing. I can only impagine your pain and sorrow. He created some memoriable times. I was one of two females to drive with him. I needed to get to OR and he was going that way! It was snowing and with many expletives, he told me to keep this truck running, don’t get off the road, and whatever I did to keep moving and with that he crawled into the bunk. I was in a convoy going right through KS. What a trip. These are the memories we all have, that will keep him with us. One thing for sure is that , I knew he loved my sister through and through. Keeping all of you in my prayers. Love your sister-in-law, aunt and sister, Deb
