Virginia C. Hildebrand, 91

Virginia C. Hildebrand, 91, of Columbia, PA, and formerly of Camp Hill, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at St. Anne’s Retirement Community.

She was the wife of the late James R. Hildebrand, who passed away this past August 9th. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Esther Spang Miller.

Virginia has been a homemaker and a very active volunteer, serving with Hospice of Central PA and at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill.
She enjoyed reading and traveling to elder hostels throughout North America. Her greatest treasure was her family, doing all she could for them.

Virginia was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church of Camp Hill, where she was a member of the Women’s Council and the Altar Rosary Society.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin married to Samuel Turpin of Mechanicsburg; her son Gregory Hildebrand married to Sue Walters of Birmingham, AL; her nine grandchildren: Stacy, Scott, Michelle, Melissa, Jonathan, Sarah, Andrew, Jessica, and Rachel; and by her 13 great grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Saturday, February 6, 2016, from 9:30-11AM at chapel of St. Anne’s Retirement Community, 3952 Columbia Ave., Columbia, PA 17512, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11AM. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.
