Virginia M. Bowman, 70
November 15, 2022
Virginia M. “Ginny” Bowman, 70, of Lancaster, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. Born in South River, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Leona (Mickiewicz) Grabowski. She was the loving wife of Donald R. “Don” Bowman, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.
Ginny was a woman who always let you know what’s on her mind. She was loved by her customers at Yorgey’s over the past 8 years and spent her spare time gardening and doing yard work, and spoiling her dogs Lola, Trixie, and Chance. She became a certified scuba diver at the age of 50 and would make frequent trips to the Florida Keys to scuba dive. Most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be very much missed.
In addition to her husband Don, Ginny is survived by her sons, David Bowman (wife, Kelly) of Houston, TX and Scott Bowman (wife, Jodi) of Bradenton, FL; and her brother, Chester Grabowski of Corpus Christi, TX; as well as five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Loved ones are invited to attend a Visitation at Charles F. Snyder, III Funeral Home, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584 on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ginny’s name to the Animal Rescue of one’s choosing.

I am so very sorry to hear of Ginny’s passing. She was our neighbor for over 10 years and was a wonderful person. She loved her dogs more than the world. She always kept an eye on us and made sure we were doing ok. Thoughts to Don and the family.

So sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother. I am unable to come to the Visitation but be assured of my thoughts and prayers for all of you now and in the days to come. I always thought of Ginny as my “little” cousin, along with Diane, but I see she was not that much younger than me. We shared many happy family gatherings growing up. Although distance prevented us from getting together after Ginny moved to Lancaster, we had many nice phone conversations and Ginny often sent a letter in her lovely handwriting. May the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, help you as you grieve her passing.

I’ve been trying to express my feelings about my friend & former neighbor, Ginny without writing a chapter in a book. As a friend & former neighbor for most of the past 35 years, I have so many great memories I could share. I will keep it short & say I treasured our friendship & the many conversations we had over the years. We have a special bond as she is paternal grandmother& I maternal grandmother to Alex. Ginny loved her sons, grandchildren & great grandchildren. Alex is lucky to be one of those grandchildren.
Rest in peace, Ginny. You will be missed but never forgotten.
Love, Barb
