William “Bill” A. Bush, 97, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018.
He was the husband of the late Violet “Vi” R. Miller Bush, who passed away in 2014. Born in Tremont, PA, he was the son of the late William H. and Florence E. Rohrbach Bush.
In his youth, Bill played in the band, played baseball and basketball, and raised mink. Bill was a graduate of the Pottsville College of Business and served in the US Army during World War II as a Sgt., serving in both the European and Pacific Theaters.
He worked for the Hamilton Watch Company for 10 years and at Warner Lambert for 29 years as a quality assurance supervisor.
Bill loved dogs, feeding the birds, volunteering at Pleasant View Retirement Community, and golfing at Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach. He was a 50 year plus member of Conestoga Country Club.
He had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Lancaster for over 50 years.
Bill is survived by his sisters-in-law: Miriam Snyder of Willow Street, Carol married to Fred Shank of Raleigh, NC and Kay Hoffer of Manheim and by many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend Bill’s Memorial Service on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11AM at the chapel of the Mennonite Home, 1520 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA. Interment will be private in the Memorial Garden at Trinity Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Make-A Wish Foundation of Lancaster, 1054 New Holland Ave, Lancaster, PA 17601.
