William Hooper “Buzz” Kellett, 84
May 24, 2017
William Hooper “Buzz” Kellett, 84, of West Lampeter TWP. and formerly of Lititz, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Lancaster General Hospital. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY to the late William R. and Majel (Hooper) Kellett but soon moved back to the family home at Winnefox Point in Menasha, WI. Buzz celebrated 43 years of marriage with his wife Daisette Gebhart Kellett last February.
He graduated from Shattuck Military Academy in Faribault, MN and earned his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Wisconsin in 1954. Buzz worked for tissue manufacturer Kimberly-Clark, then Potlatch Forest and last as a wholesaler of American Indian jewelry.
Buzz enjoyed sailing onboard his beloved “Winnefox” on the Chesapeake Bay and reveled in yearly bareboat charters in the Caribbean. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, previously holding seats 16 rows up on the 50 yard line behind the Packers’ bench and right behind player Don Hutson’s wife.
He was always a wonderful host, but not necessarily the best guest. Buzz was eagerly willing to share his opinion about politics, weight gain, makeup and hairstyles.
In addition to Buzz’s wife Daisette, he is survived by four children, Kate Kellett, wife of Steve Nowell of Boulder, CO, and Kate’s children Kelly and Kalen Kaminski, Kris Kellett of San Diego, CA, William Dean Kellett, husband of Lara and their children Jace and Ravenna of Palm Desert, CA and Josephine Kellett, wife of Frank Magri of Crested Butte, CO. Buzz’s sister Kalen Koch preceded him in death.
Buzz was unique and memorable but, most importantly, was a loyal friend, a caring and supportive husband and a loving father.
He will be missed.
A Celebration of Buzz’s Life will take place 11 AM Saturday, June 17, 2017 with Celebrant Linda Berger leading the service at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM on Saturday. Interment will be private.
Please omit flowers. Buzz had much interest in preserving and replenishing one of our most important renewable resources…trees. So, if you have the space, the opportunity and the inclination, plant a tree and as it renews itself each Spring, remember Buzz.

Hello Daisette,
just read of Buzz’s passing. So sorry for your loss. Nothing but fond memories of times with the both of you. I’ve been down the shore since mid-may and am just catching up on the Lanc newspapers. I apologize for not been at Buzz’s celebration of life. Buzz always liked to party. You n Buzz are always remembered when Will n I talk about the good old coterie days. Our prayers are with you at this time. Love always. Gay and Will
