Winifred “Winnie” M. Harris, 95

Winifred “Winnie” M. Harris, 95, of Pequea, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023. Born in Newmanstown, PA she was the daughter of the late William M. and Emily (Leibig) Hickernell. She was the beloved wife to the late Harry J. Harris, who passed in 1995.

Prior to retirement, Winnie worked as a baker for Millersville University for 25 years. She enjoyed sewing, traveling and painting. Most of all she cherished spending time with her friends and family. Her love for sweets, especially chocolate will be missed by all who knew her.

Winnie is survived by her children: Craig A. Harris of Washington, Keith A. Harris of Washington Boro, Kim A. Harris of Pequea and Kerry J. Harris of Maine; her 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her siblings: Lorraine Eberly, Joyce Raihl, Donald Hickernell, and Neal Hickernell. She was preceded in death by a grandson and 3 siblings: Clifford Hickernell, Jay Hickernell and William Hickernell, Jr.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601. A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Friday, July 21, 2023 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 N. George Street, Millersville, PA 17551. Family and friends will be received from 10AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at Zion Cemetery.
