Kenneth Lee “Ken” Garner, 84
August 31, 2024
Kenneth Lee “Ken” Garner, 84, of Mount Joy, died on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Lebanon VA Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lititz, he was the son of the late Daniel C. and Susan Adair Garner. Ken was the loving husband of Marlene Garner. They shared 59 years of marriage where their love and dedication grew daily guided by their faith.
A veteran, Ken proudly served his country in both the United States Naval Reserves and United States Air Force. He was a true patriot who was selfless in his service towards our country. For many years he worked for Crystal Springs Water as a delivery driver and later a warehouse manager. After retirement, Ken then went on to work at the Manheim Auto Auction. His favorite hobby was to color beautiful pictures. Despite living with shaking caused by Parkinson’s, he never veered outside of the lines. He also enjoyed collecting die cast model cars.
Ken volunteered with the Warwick Community Ambulance for 18 years and previously was a firefighter with the Lititz Fire Company. He was a quiet man who was filled with wisdom. When he spoke, those close to him knew to listen. He was a caring man, who put family above all else. Ken was also a man strong in his faith who enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. He found peace at his family’s cabin in Potter County where he spent many hours snowmobiling and many summers spending time with his loved ones.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Marlene Garner; son, Jeffrey Garner and his wife, Mary Kay; daughter, Hope Garner; and granddaughter, Samantha Garner.

We will always remember Ken as our neighbor in Lititz some 53 years ago. Kind, helpful and fun. There is a joke I remember well that he told all those years ago. You all came to visit our home the day that Elvis Presley died and we saw you in PA about 15 years ago. Our deepest sympathy for the entire family. He will be missed but our fond memories will live on. 🙏🏼😢

So sad to hear of Ken’s passing! I remember he was such a jokester and had a great smile and sense of humor. He and Marlene hosted a bunch of us for youth work day and while we worked hard, Ken also made us laugh and we had a great time there. Ken was one of the ambulance crew who took my dad to Will’s Eye Hospital and he was so kind and caring. Praying for peace and comfort for the family! Wendy (Landis) Johnson
